My name is Daniel Lewis. I grew up in the north Georgia mountains hiking, wakeboarding, and generally spending time outdoors. While I wasn't outside, I was building; I have always been drawn to projects where I can create something tangible. Over time, I realized engineering is my medium of art, the way I solve problems, learn new skills, and turn ideas into reality.
I graduated from Georgia Tech with a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering, became a published author in Advanced Sensors Research, and won Georgia Tech’s interdisciplinary capstone competition for a mechatronic arterial closure device. I then worked as a Mechanical Design Engineer at Kubota and returned to school to deepen my robotics and systems background, and I am now completing an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering at Virginia Tech. I'm a well-rounded engineer, comfortable in mechanical design, robotics/embedded systems, manufacturing, and much more with experience across several industries.
Today I focus on the full build loop: design, prototype, embedded logic, testing, and iteration. I am happiest when I am using engineering to create art.
